Comment on Police numbers
Cathy Peattie MSP said "The SNP manifesto said they would recruit
a thousand police officers, not redeploy them.
"This sounds like back-peddling. We need clarification of what the
SNP mean by the equivalent of 1,000 new officers.
"If they redeploy police officers, which jobs will they be redeployed
from, and who will do the jobs they vacate?
"Will the redeployment only affect administrative work, or will it
extend to other policing tasks?
"We need to know whether people who are taken on to do these tasks
will be employed by the police and trained to the same standards as the
police."
